Each have been linked with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's resignation on Monday.

The Manager's Position on Celtic

The Ipswich boss referred to Celtic as "a really big soccer institution" but stressed he is "in the middle" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town.

The mid-thirties assumed control of Portman Road in recent years and guided the team to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they won just a handful of victories last season as they were demoted back to the Championship and they presently occupy twelfth place in the Championship.

"There have been such discussions," the London-born former Northern Ireland young player said when questioned about being on the candidate list.

"This isn't a matter I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is this week.

"I possess a special job here at a special team. And we're at a really important stage of the season. Everything external hasn't touched my awareness."

Context and Agreement Details

It has been suggested that McKenna would be open to speaking to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our affinities," he said when questioned about those. "I don't think all people has to go around and declare what they were, but of course it's a really big football club."

The coach agreed to a new four-year contract in 2024 and was asked about his reported £5m release clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I tackle this role like I'll be Ipswich manager indefinitely. I understand that's not invariably going to be the case, but I'll always give maximum effort as long as I am here."

Bellamy's Situation

The former striker played for the Hoops on loan from Newcastle United in 2005, but the former Welsh striker is inclined to complete the current global tournament campaign, a stance that would practically eliminate the mid-forties from assuming the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are currently third in their qualifying group behind group toppers Belgium and second-placed Macedonia.

Wins over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would secure their place in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but assured of reaching that stage, thanks to a productive European competition campaign, even if they not end up their group second place.

Given his current stance, Bellamy, whose contract expires after the European Championship, would not be available until following the qualifying matches at the earliest.
