Your Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on Your Zodiac Sign
This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense excitement within the community. Starting with the one-by-one reveal of newcomers before the title's release, to trainers forming firm views on the full lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.
With numerous of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive designs that highlight their traits, one idea came to mind: How can connect this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a blend of vibes, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that evoke the most fear. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as always furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. That's why the Ram far more similar to Mega Camerupt, which only erupts when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a powerful ally; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Similar to a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its standard and Super Form, has aided numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will stand up for their position unwaveringly. What about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unashamed love of treats. Many past Pokédex entries mention their craving for tasty tree sap and how it uses its horn to collect it all, which is pure Taurus energy.
Gemini – Mega Medicham
Look at this absolute queen. You cannot tell me this creature is not the soul of every party, providing an constant stream of chatter to those who wants to hear. Just like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's very easy to envision Mega Medicham captivating an whole Wild Zone with their stories. This Pokémon's official description also states its ability to foresee an opponent's next moves, which sounds quite similar to a socially-savvy Twins.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most sensitive sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol known for frequently getting wrapped up in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the creature with a “huge amount of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to completely control,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its capability to create a storm cloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is obviously Mega Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being extremely glamorous (or terrifying, depending on your preference). Fans were captivated from the purple sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Leo brings to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a performance, even if for aliens.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Virgo is perfectly represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly critical is clearly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a always shocked expression like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a 401(k), to its inverted visage that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo posts to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of making a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Observe this gentle, empathetic creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to detect how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and striving to maintain the peace, there are numerous Libras who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. However, to be frank, it would likely just make them stress more about everyone else.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly tragic origin: Abandoned as a toy, it gained sentient through pure resentment and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a performance. Being a Archer personally, the amount of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “silly little jester” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its description even mentions how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had a Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer counterpart I can imagine.
Capricorn – Mega Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to predict disasters ahead of time? That exudes the exact same energy as a Goat, who often consistently think they’re correct. The thing is, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to join the beginning of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous memes about the Archer and Aquarius being unpredictable accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general daunting presence is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s description says it “draws in hatred and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
