Recent details have emerged concerning the tragic passing of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report referencing a confidential source, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the home. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

When she went into the house, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Afterward, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Developments

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, including the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently in custody without bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source also disputed several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

Additionally refuted widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction also extends to reports of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. While the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the state of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
