Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. It offers these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
