Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from spring of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has secured 21 titles at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to win a title is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.
His retrieving play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional title, took control to force a decider.
He rescued four initial break points in a close deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched victory with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
