Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside actor Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA recently following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
